How to Create A New Playlist in iTunes 11

The iTunes 11 has a completely new look. It will take you some time to get used to the redesigned interface. In this post, I’d like to walk you through the steps to create a new playlist in the new iTunes 11.

If you have a host of songs stored in your computer hard drive, you may also add them to iTunes library for sync with Apple devices like iPad, iPad mini, iPhone and iPod touch. The process is easy if the songs are DRM free. You just press the menu on the top left of iTunes and choose Add File to Library… to load local music files.

How to Create A New Playlist in iTunes 11?

Navigate to the music library and then drop down the + button on the bottom left of iTunes. Then you can choose to create a new playlist, a new smart playlist and a new playlist folder.

Select New Playlist from the drop-down menu and then name the playlist. Go to the new playlist and switch to the Songs tab. Then you just select songs and drag and drop them to the playlist.

How to Create A New Smart Playlist in iTunes 11?

You can also choose New Smart Playlist… to create a new playlist for your preferences. In the following Smart Playlist window, you are allowed to set various conditions for your playlist. The iTunes will automatically generate a new playlist for you according to the settings and conditions.

If there are thousands of songs and hundreds of playlists in your iTunes library, you can also create playlist folders to manage your music library in an organized way.
