Convert Video on iPhone and Transfer to Computer

In this post, I’d like to show you how to upload video files to iPhone, convert video files on the device and then transfer the converted video files back to computer. To get all done, you only need Video Converter App for iPhone.

First, download and install Video Converter App onto your iPhone.

iTunes Link: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/video-converter-app/id549355396

Video Converter App works with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S and iPhone 5 running iOS 5.0 or above.

Upload Video Files to iPhone

Open Video Converter App on your iPhone. Then switch to the WiFi Upload tab.

Open a web browser (IE, Firefox, Safari, Chrome…) in your computer (Windows/Mac). Type the HTTP URL address as shown in the above WiFi Upload screen into the address bar.

Then click the Upload button to select video files from your computer and transfer them to your iPhone for converting. The uploading status will be shown in both the WiFi Upload screen and the web browser interface.

Note: Apart from video files in your computer local hard drive, Video Converter App for iPhone also lets you import video files from Dropbox, Microsoft SkyDrive, Camera Roll, etc. for encoding.

If the size of the video file is very large, i.e. 1GB+, you can consider transferring it via iTunes File Sharing for higher speed.

The uploaded video files will go located in the Video Source tab in Video Converter App.

Convert Video Files on iPhone

In the video source tab, you can choose any of them for converting.

The converted video files will be located in the Converted Video tab.

Transfer Video Files to Computer

Tap the Share icon in the top right corner of the Converted Video screen, and you can choose to play the converted video on your iPhone, copy the converted video to Photo Libary, open the converted video in other apps, and even transfer the converted video back to your computer.

Tap the Wi-Fi Transfer option, and you will get a pop-up message that lets you enter the address into your computer’s web browser to download converted video files.

Actually, this address is the same as that in the WiFi Upload step. If your web browser is still open, you can switch to the Download tab, click the converted video, and save it to your computer.

In case there’s no video listed in the Download tab after the conversion, please simply refresh the web page.

Done.
